Abstract

The paper aims to reveal the role of corporate newspapers of Cherepovets industrial enterprises under the conditions of the ecological crisis of the 1970-1980s. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the author introduces materials of corporate periodicals on environmental issues into scientific circulation. The findings indicate that the corporate press contributed greatly to ecological education and nature protection activity. In the period of “perestroika”, when “policy of openness” was proclaimed, publications in the periodical press promoted growth of ecological awareness among population and initiated formation of non-formal ecological movement in Cherepovets.
