Abstract

By the example of Luhansk region of the Ukrainian SSR the paper shows how the policy of the regional TV and radio companies in the 1960-1980s served interests of the Komsomol movement. The author describes the procedure of preparation and airplay of youth programs taking into account the region’s socio-economic specificity. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that relying on previously unpublished materials, the researcher analyses participation of the regional TV and radio companies in realization of goals and tasks of the Komsomol organization. The conclusion is made that activity of the Donbass electronic media to produce youth programs was implemented in close interaction with the regional Komsomol organizations ensuring systemic production of TV and radio programs for young people.
