Abstract

This article considers the relationship between the management of the Taganrog Institute for the Scientific Organization of Production and the workers of its enterprises, who were part of its experimental industrial trust, based on unpublished archival materials stored in the State Archive of the Russian Federation and the Taganrog branch of SARR. Conflicts occurred in the period from 1922 to 1925. These sources are be-ing introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The problem we raise of conflicts between the Taganrog Institute for the Scientific Organization of Production and the workers of its enterprises has not been considered by historians. The author studies the conflicts of the Taganrog Institute for the Scientific Organization of Production with the workers of its Taganrog mill and creamery, Georgievsk and Dinsk mills. Workers of these enterprises were dissatisfied with the violation of Soviet legislation by the Institute, the exploitation of workers, and low wages. The mill managers were constantly receiving complaints to trade unions and state authorities. The reason for this situation was that the institute had a difficult financial situation throughout its existence, forcing it to save money. It happened due to the fact that the Institute underestimated wages and could not compete with other enterprises. Another reason of conflict was that the Institute appointed incompetent people to leadership positions.
