Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the energy saving effects according to differences in interests between energy experts and building users, when establishing a green remodeling plan for old buildings. The survey was conducted to investigate building users’ opinions on building retrofitting. The results show that retrofit alternatives between experts and building users were different. The experts focus on energy saving in making alternatives, whereas building users mainly want to improve building appearance. Approximately 31.8% of building energy was saved with the experts’ retrofit alternatives. On the other hand, only 12.6% of building energy was saved through applying the retrofit alternatives of building users.
