Abstract

This article attempts to identify the correlation between the concepts of cybersports, computer sports, e-sports, distance sports, online sports, digital sports on the basis of the current legislation regulating computer sports in the Russian Federation and scientific literature on the topic of research. Based on the analyzed information, the author has made the following conclusions: it is acceptable to apply to the term “computer sports” such synonyms as “cybersport”, “e-sports” and “digital sports”; the term “online sport” is incorrect to use as a synonym to the concept “computer sports”, because online sport or online competition is not a synonym for the term “computer sports”, but directly one of the ways of its implementation; regarding the use as a synonym to the concept “computer sports” the term “distance sports” is made.
