Abstract

With the purpose of removing metal cations from industrial and domestic wastewater, it is proposed, as an analogue to traditional sulfonated coal, to use a carbon adsorbent, which was obtained as a result of thermo-chemical destruction of industrial wastewater sludge from a paper mill. The ability of carbon adsorbent to ion exchange is investigated, and the results of experiments on the study of dynamic exchange capacity are presented.
