Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of voluntary status of start-ups, preparation for business, proportion of equity capital in preparation stage on the success of start-ups. For empirical investigation, 190 entrepreneurs were surveyed through the year 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 to identify their life satisfaction and survival in business. The result of statistical analysis shows as follows. First, the degree of voluntary start-ups and preparation for the start-ups positively affect satisfaction of start-up entrepreneurs. Second, the degree of voluntary start-ups and preparation for start-ups positively affect life satisfaction of the start-up entrepreneurs. In addition, the result of logistic regression shows that degree of preparation for start-ups have a significant impact on business survival for the next three years from foundation of start-ups.
