Abstract

A possibility to increase productivity of radishes Raphanus sativus L. (cultivar Mokhovsky) growing on soil-like substrate (SLS) with the use of an inert desintegrator and forced aeration was investigated. Aeration quality was assessed using the fouling glasses. The main aeration quality criterion was presence or absence of mycelial fungi that cannot grow in anaerobic conditions. It was found that the desintegrator and SLS in the ratio of 1:3 increase substrate air permeability; besides, combination of the desintegrator and forced ventilation improves nitrogen nutrition of plants growing on SLS containing vegetable organics with an increased C/N ratio.
