Abstract

Modern Russia is in a demographic crisis – in the absolute majority of its regions, including North Ossetia, there is depopulation of the population. The article presents a comparative analysis of the main indicators of the demographic situation in the republic. The analysis showed that as a result of the negative characteristics of natural and mechanical movement, the population of the region is rapidly decreasing, the age structure is deteriorating, the burden on the working generation is increasing, etc. All this negatively affects the socio-economic development of the region.
