Abstract

Today, organic agriculture is a priority for the development of the country. The transition to organic production is a key factor on the way to a “green” economy, as well as the improvement of the environment. The aim of the article is to investigate the current state of enterprises producing organic fruit and vegetable products and the prospects for the development of export in the industry. This article presents the essence of organic agriculture and its benefits. The current state of the market of organic fruit and vegetable products is analyzed (the area occupied by organic farming and areas with organic status, the number of operators-producers, income from the sale of organic products in domestic markets are shown). The export potential of the sector (represented by the importing countries and the main organic products that are consumed abroad). Identified the main problems which hinder the development of the organic fruit and vegetable sector. Formed a recommended set for enterprises to improve the status of organic fruit and vegetable production in the domestic and international markets. The recommended set of actions to improve the status of enterprises producing organic vegetables, fruits and berries on the domestic and international markets, which should be based on: accelerated development of the raw material base, increasing the area and cultivation of certain crops demanded in international markets, breeding; construction of new and modernization of existing production facilities with the attraction of foreign investment for large processing of agricultural raw materials; development of training programs, professional development of workers, assistance in moving out of the “gray” zone; creation of modern trade and logistics centers and cold storage facilities; popularization of domestic organic products of high quality, corresponding to EU standards, strengthening branding. The practical significance of the study is due to the fact that the implementation of the results of the study provides an increase in the efficiency of the sector, a positive impact on the economy in agriculture, increasing the capacity of the domestic market and export expansion within the WTO, creating conditions for the sustainability of agricultural systems, improving the environmental condition of the country.
