Abstract

This paper analyses some of the errors that are encountered in the design of new buildings and structures, as well as in the renovation of existing facilities. Three errors are analysed, including incorrect assessment of the deformation properties of different masonry materials, incorrect application of the grinding method when assessing the strength of plastic moulded ceramic bricks. The article also points out the need to assess the strength of structures on both upper floors and lower floors when carrying out the redevelopment of buildings with the removal of load-bearing structures.
