Abstract

Accurate calculation of fuel consumption helps to correctly plan the operating modes of power equipment. The paper presents a mathematical model for calculating the arrival of heat with coke oven gas at a metallurgical plant. Amendments to the gas consumption for its composition have been introduced. For each consumer, the chemical and physical energy that comes with the gas is determined. This method does not require measuring the composition of the coke oven gas for each consumer; furthermore there is no need to measure the humidity of the gas. For gas metering units, it is only required to install a standard set of devices before gas-consuming equipment, which reduces the cost of system maintenance.
