Abstract

Objectives The purpose of this study is to sequentially investigate the effects of regular complex exercise and appropriate protein supplement intake on resting metabolic rate during body composition and stabilization for middle-aged obese women in their 50’s & 60’s. Methods In this study, tested subjects were middle-aged obese women with a waist of 80㎝ or higher or more after menopause. It consisted of a combined exercise group (n=8), a combined exercise and protein ingestion group (n=8), and a control group. A total of 80 minutes, including warm-up (10 minutes), aerobic exercise (30 minutes), band exercise (30 minutes), and cleanup exercise (10 minutes), were conducted four times a week for eight weeks. Results There were significant differences in weight, body fat, body fat percentage, and waist circumference before & after training combined excise group and combined excise protein intake group. Conclusions Complex exercise combined with protein intake was found to be effective in improving body composition.
