Abstract

The article studies the physical-mechanical and technological properties of core mixtures containing binding system with phosphoric acid and some additives. These include pulverized refractory fillers (quartz, zircon, pyrophyllite, disthene-sillimanit), aluminum sludge concentrate and aluminum sulphate. Determined compressive and tensile strength of samples of these mixtures after heat hardening and the correlation between these characteristics was found. For the first time, the following properties of these mixtures, as gas permeability and gas formation, was determined. Comparative characteristics of all mixtures is given. It is established that for a set of properties they should be recommended for foundry cores while obtaining castings from iron alloys.
