Abstract

The paper aims to reveal universal and nationally specific features of representation of religious images and conceptions in the Spanish and French phraseology, which allows identifying differences in the national religious consciousnesses. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that analysing correlation of the phraseo-semantic field “Human Being” and the phraseo-thematic field “Religion”, the author ascertains stereotype relations between the plane of expression and the plane of content of the phraseological units. The conclusion is made on the existence of phraseo-semiotic links common for both the languages and idio-ethnic links typical only of one particular language.
