Abstract

The article analyzes the role of the science, education and technology for the formation of a single technological space of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia in modern conditions. The author emphasizes that there is a definite lack of the new concept of scientific and technological cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia, which could form the basis for close cooperation between the two countries at a new stage and provide the doctrinal structure pattern for the dynamic development projects and platforms for full-scale interstate cooperation created with the aim of forming a single scientific and technological space. The latter, as the author points out, should become a basic concept not only within the framework of bilateral relations but also on the scale of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Eurasian Economic Union. The article defines the priority goals and directions for modernization of higher education in the two countries, the role of higher education to ensure national security. The author characterizes the trends in the publishing activity of researchers in Russia and Armenia over the past decade, based on the statistics of publications of scientists from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia published in the international abstract and citation database Scopus, including joint publications of articles on leading branches of knowledge.
