Abstract
The article presents data on the morphological features of the neurons of the extramural vagus ganglia. The work was performed on 100 preparations of the upper and lower extracranial nodes of the vagus nerve, taken from 100 corpses. In the proximal and distal nodes of the vagus nerve, pseudo-unipolar neurons predominantly morphologically similar to those of the spinal nodes. With age, the total volume of the neurocellular fund changes, it is significantly reduced. The most significant shifts are noted in extremely oldage, which is evidence of a significant narrowing of the adaptive-compensatorycapabilities at this age.
