Abstract

Ensemble playing is an important component of band performance, but the Chinese higher school pays insufficient attention to this academic discipline, which is not in tune with requirements of modern ensemble orchestra performance. The research objective is as follows: to improve ensemble training, to reach a new level of ensemble music education. The author identifies specificity of ensemble training in China, summarizes poorly investigated organizational problems, which constitutes scientific originality of the study. As a result, the researcher determines the basic trends in educational process optimization: consolidation and extension of ensemble performance skills, stage-by-stage training, repertoire optimization and rehearsal activity focus on preparing for concert performance.
