Abstract

This article presents a pilot study of surgical correction of isthmic-cervical insufficiency (ICI) in 5 patients aged 29 to 45 years with singleton pregnancies at gestational ages ranging from 13–14 to 19–20 weeks. An original method of cerclage using a spiral suture, anchor ligatures, and a titanium fixator was developed, the main purpose of which is to prevent cervical injury by the erupting suture of the terminal fixing block of the anchor ligature. This method of ICI correction is expected to contribute to optimization of the results of surgical treatment and improvement of perinatal outcomes. Key words: isthmic-cervical insufficiency, anchor ligatures, titanium fixator, cerclage, spiral suture
