Julia Magera is a scholar in the field of Japanese culture studies, a researcher at the Institute for Oriental and Classical Studies, the organizer of the international conference “The World of Comics”, the editor–in-chief of the website “Mangalectory”. In this issue of P&I dedicated to comics culture, Julia Magera talks about tanuki werewolves and Mickey Mouse, the city of Neo-Tokyo and “munyashki”, about the manga faculty in Kyoto and the course “Cool Japan” at the HSE.
