Abstract

The solution of the problem of the civilizational development of mankind is unthinkable without referring to the provisions of the founders of the theory of civilization. In a comparative analysis of the theories of L. G. Morgan and F. It was revealed by Engels that the main engine of the progressive movement in the fi rst case is the production of means of subsistence, in the second — the production of means of production. The universality of the theory of civilization F. It is impossible to imagine Engels without the reasoned, historically reliable theory of L. G. Morgan.
