Abstract

The present report sets forth the results of an analysis of previously published materials, obtained by means of an experiment on doubling the throughput of an ultra-high-speed radio link by realizing the second channel via polarization multiplexing. The improvement of the design of elements ensuring polarization isolation makes it possible to significantly increase the ellipticity ratio of the AFD (antenna feeder device) and, ultimately, to enhance transmission quality and/or simplify the requirements for other components of the radio link. For example, by using polarization multiplexing it is possible to increase the transmission rate in the radio link or use a simpler correcting code.
