Abstract

The study aims to consider ways of linguoculturological competence formation among philology students during classes in modern Russian in a multicultural educational space. Scientific novelty of the study lies in proposing a methodological system of working with a literary text during classes in modern Russian that is aimed at linguoculturological competence formation providing for the identification of universal and nation-specific features in a literary text. As a result of the study, the researchers have determined the need for a comprehensive analysis of nation-specific units of the language (Russian religious names, Turkisms-regionalisms) using cultural studies, historical-linguistic, etymological and linguoculturological commentaries and involving the material of an educational literary text. This will expand students’ cognitive base, i.e. the pool of knowledge about the peoples’ culture.
