Abstract
The article is devoted to the genesis of the concept of an official as a subject of receiving a bribe in domestic legislation with historical and legal forms. The process of formation of the concepts of “official”, “bribe”, “extortion” from the point of view of the criminal law is considered. The authors consider the retrospectives of the emergence and spread of these concepts, in this regard, the chronology of corruption manifestations in Russian society is highlighted. The article focuses on changes in the status and concept of an official in relation to the criminal law.
