Scientific novelty of the study lies in addressing the features of the category of geographical terms belonging to the Tatar dialect vocabulary that denotes the swamp and its parts. In the course of the study, 7 groups of dialect lexemes were identified, the semantic analysis of which showed their peculiarities - while there is a commonality of the main seme associated with any particular characteristic of the notion of the swamp, there are also dialect variants with different additional semes.
