Abstract

Pot experiments were carried out in greenhouse to evaluate methanolic extracts of the following plants: fig leaves(Ficus carica), myrtle leaves (Myrtus communis), and stem, leaves, flowers and roots of marigold plant (Tagetes patula) separately to control Fusarium wilt and root rot disease on tomato plants. Fungal suspensions were prepared from Fusarium solani isolated from roots, and Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycoprsici (FOL) isolated from stems, and Fusarium solani isolated from rhizosphare of infected tomato plants at the General Commission for Scientific Agricultural Research in Duma. Results showed that both extracts of marigold stem and leaves with 6% concentration per each were superior significantly on control plants which were untreated with extracts, when added to F. solani suspension which isolated from tomato roots, and FOL suspension which isolated from stems, and F. solani suspension which isolated from rhizosphare of tomato plants per each, they reduced the percent of infected plants. Meanwhile, adding the extract of marigold plant stems to F. solani suspension which isolated from roots, and FOL suspension which isolated from stems, and F. solani suspension which isolated from rhizosphare of tomato plant per each, led to increase the stem lengths of tomato plants only.
