Abstract

The author examines the mention, evaluation, and interpretation of historical events and personalities in the programs of political parties that put forward lists of their candidates for elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the 8th convocation. As a result of the study, the author came to the conclusion that radical assessments of historical events, both positive and negative, are found only in isolated cases, which indicates the broad ideological boundaries of most parties. The experience of the Soviet period in the context of social policy and industry is positively assessed by the majority of parties, while the decisions of the authorities of the period of the 90s of the last century are assessed strictly negatively. The study showed that the ideological basis of the party will not in all cases correspond to the assessment of historical events given in the party’s election program.
