Abstract
Future mobility in industry is undergoing a major digital transformation to enhance user experience by incorporating the idea of the metaverse. This study examines nine representative cases and evaluates their technical and experiential qualities based on six criteria: persistency, interaction, concurrence, interoperability, economic efficiency, and immersion. All nine cases have utilized AI and advanced sensors to enable users to continuously participate in metaverse content and interact with their vehicle systems in real time. However, each case has interpreted the concept of an avatar as a virtual assistant and mixed reality differently while applying diverse levels of experience. Using a unified set of criteria for analyzing the characteristics of each case has provided valuable insight for categorizing different types of metaverse applications of future mobility in industry, results which were previously unclear despite having been widely approached.
