Abstract

This article presents a clinical case of successful organ-preserving surgical treatment of giant uterine leiomyoma in a 29-year old patient. The tumor had an average diameter of 35 cm and was localized in the posterior uterine wall and cervical-pericervical region. The following procedures were performed: midline laparotomy, temporary occlusion of the internal iliac arteries, myomectomy with uterine cavity dissection, endometrial biopsy, and metroplasty.
