Abstract

The agricultural sector of the Russian economy has been going through a difficult period of development in recent years, which is primarily due to the difficult situation that has arisen in relation to our country on the part of a number of Western countries, primarily the EU and North America. The sanctions restrictions imposed against the domestic agro-industrial complex affected many sectors of the agricultural sector, thereby forcing domestic food producers to switch to an import substitution strategy, starting the production of their own products, instead of those previously imported from other countries. The article examines issues related to the production efficiency of the domestic agricultural sector in the production of crop products, in particular vegetables and potatoes. An analysis of the dynamics of such indicators as sown area, yield, gross yield, and profit was carried out. The corresponding conclusions were drawn and the necessary recommendations were proposed to improve efficiency in the production of vegetable products in our country.
