Abstract

The purpose of this study was examine the effects of the bungee fitness program conducted on 8-weeks of obese adult women on body composition, basic fitness, anaerobic power, and isokinetic muscle strength. The subjects were composed of eight groups of bungee training group(BGT) and eight groups of control group(CON). The exercise program was conducted for 8-weeks, twice a week for 60 minutes, with RPE 13-15 intensity, and gradually increased the number of sets and the number of repetitions in consideration of the physical strength of the subject.BR 1) In body composition, BGT was significantly decreased in body fat and body fat percentage (p.05). 2) In terms of basic physical fitness, BGT was significantly increased in grip strength, abdominal muscle strength, vertical jump, sidestep, sit-ups, and closed unicycles (p.01). 3) In terms of anaerobic capacity, BGT increased significantly at peak power and mean power (p.01). 4) In isokinetic muscle strength, BGT was significantly increased in the flexion ratio of left lower extremity articular flexion and left lower extremity flexion (p.05).BR The above results show that the bungee fitness program, conducted for 8-weeks for obese adult women, has a positive effect on physical fitness, basic body strength, and anaerobic power. It is determined that repeated strength exercises and aerobic exercises using the elasticity of the bungee rope helped reduce body fat and improve strength.
