This article is devoted to the study of the theme of love in ancient Greek philosophy, as well as its reflection in the works of Russian classical literature. Eros, Philia, Mania, Stroge, Ludus, Pragma, Agape - each of these terms carries a specific understanding of a particular shade of love experienced by a person. And sometimes these shades can contain completely opposite meanings. The article examines the types of love in ancient philosophy, reveals their characteristic features and differences. The author also analyzes the works of Russian classical literature, interprets the feelings of the heroes of the works according to the ancient classification of the concept of love.
