Abstract

The article examines figurative units that represent specificity of cognitive and visual modelling of military operations. Scientific originality of the study includes a simultaneous analysis of mental and perceptive elements of the American and Russian terminological units in the sphere of military tactics. The conclusions are made about coherence of a conducted military operation and previous military or everyday experience, which frequently does not correlate with actual events but manifests itself in similar ways in military tactics.
