Abstract

The article analyzes the civic-patriotic education of students, examines the experience of developing patriotism, features of the implementation of the federal project “Patriotic Education of Citizens of the Russian Federation” and regional programs of patriotic education. The experience of organizing and directing civic-patriotic educa-tion among students is presented, with the aim of its practical use at the university, the subjects of patriotic edu-cation and the most effective tools for educating a patriot are identified. The results of a sociological survey of students of the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education “Belgorod National Re-search University” (BSU) regarding the manifestation of patriotism are presented, forms of work to enhance patriotic education within the framework of the activities of student self-government are identified, which should be built taking into account the trends of geopolitical realities, including the conduct of Special Military Opera-tion, and opportunities to expand the scope of social partnership. The problem of increasing the level of patriot-ism and civic activity of student youth, their willingness to combine public and personal interests, participation in the work of student self-government for the development of the university, region, and country is becoming urgent.
