Abstract

Specific features of current varieties of spring barley as the original mate- rial for crop breeding by the level and correlation between general (GCA) and specific (SCA) combining ability for traits of resistance to a complex of harmful organisms in F1 hybridic combinations of diallel crosses are shown. As to the relative value of variances of GCA and SCA the inheritance of the complex of biological characters is found under the conditions of additive effect of genes and the genes with dominant and epistatic effects. The varieties being of a breeding value for the creation of new breeding innovations with group resistance to the kinds of helminthosporiose and for the development of the cultivars resistant to helminthosporiose root rots are defined
