Abstract
The article, based on the analysis of various points of view and its own empirical research, examines the socio-economic aspect of the causality of extremism in the youth environment of modern Russian society. On this basis, it is concluded that there are both traditional (classical) reasons and new, modernized ones, peculiar to the current state of social relations within the state.
