Abstract

Objective of the study: to determine the frequency of the spread of zinc deficiency among pregnant women in Perm based on the analysis of the diet and laboratory data. Materials and methods. The actual nutrition and the level of zinc in the blood plasma were assessed in 417 women in the first trimester of pregnancy. Results and its discussion. On average, pregnant women consume 5.9 ± 2.1 mg / day, while the minimum level was 11.5 mg / day, the maximum – 1.55 mg / day. The recommended intake level of more than 12.5 mg / day was not recorded in any woman. Further, the level of zinc in the blood serum was studied in all patients, according to which the average level was 12.6 ± 0.6 μmol / L (the norm is 10.4-16.4 μmol / L). Zinc deficiency was identified in 262 women (62.8%). Conclusions. The study found that 80% of pregnant women with food do not receive the recommended daily intake of zinc. One in five patients had risk factors that exacerbated low zinc intake. The study showed that the optimal prophylactic dose of daily intake is 25 mg of zinc. For the selection of therapeutic dosages, a preliminary determination of the level of zinc in the blood serum is required.
