Abstract

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the levels of AMH circulating in the blood of male animals in the post-pubertal period, as well as to evaluate this hormone in cryptorchid male dogs. This study was conducted on clinically healthy maledogs and maledogs with cryptorchidism aged 3 to 12 years of small dog breeds. The results of the study show that AMH in maledogs is synthesized throughout the entire post-pubertal period, so that at the age of 3 to 12 years, the AMH level was 22.7 ± 3.23 ng / ml (n = 25) (Lim 6.78-59.82) There is a trend of decreasing AMH with age. The level of AMH between the ages of 3-5 and 6-8 years (p≤0.0001) significantly decreases, from 43.62 ± 5.07 ng / ml (n = 7) to 17.04 ± 2.56 ng / ml (n = 11), respectively. The serum testosterone levels at the age of 3 to 12 years were 9.02 ± 0.79 nmol / L (n = 33) (Lim 3.33-22.7). Testosterone levels sig-nificantly increase between the ages of 3-5 and 6-8 years (p = 0.0049), from 6.88 ± 0.82 nmol / L (n = 14) to 13.55 ± 2.48 nmol / L (n = 6) respectively, no significant difference was found from 6-8 to 9-12 years. No correlation between serum AMH and testosterone was found (r = -0.39, n = 20; p = 0.08). Our findings indicate that the entire post-pubertal period in male dogs, the serum AMH level remains at a relatively high level. The source of AMH synthesis in male dogs is exclusively the tes-tes.
