Abstract

The paper presents the letters of the outstanding scholar E. K. Romodanovskaya to the famous specialist in the archaeography V. I. Malyshev that have never been published in the public domain before. These letters contain information on the working process underlying the first academic papers of E. K. Romodanovskaya, preparations for the first archaeographic expedition and its realization, and other key episodes of her research carrier. The paper also sheds light on the first appearance of the term “Russian literature of Siberia”. As a conclusion, it is argued that the correspondence with V. I. Malyshev and the mediator role of E. K. Romodanovskaya were crucial for the establishment and development of collaboration and partnership between the famous Leningrad / Petersburg scientific center and the newly formed Novosibirsk scientific center.
