Abstract

Based on archival materials from the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense (CAMD) of the Russian Federation and memoirs, the article considers the composition, role and combat use of artillery of the Kalinin Front during the Kalinin offensive operation of 1941. Data are given on the quantitative and qualitative composition of the Kalinin Front artillery, the features of its combat use are analyzed, and the contribution of artillery to the victory of the Soviet troops in the battle of Moscow is revealed.
