Abstract

Prior studies on exhibitions lack on the focus of the selection attributes and purpose for the exhibition participation. Moreover, there is less focus on importance of the values of exhibition participation. Most of the prior studies do not demonstrate the importance of corporate client and visitor’s perceived values of participation that affect the exhibition selection attributes that seemed to be a pivotal role in selecting exhibitions.<BR> The main purpose of this study is to examine the priorities of participants’ value criteria in selecting exhibitions in an effort to contribute to practical implications of related policy development in the exhibition industry of Korea.<BR> The six values were developed through in-depth interview with ten professionals who have been working the MICE industry over twenty years and are currently working for the MICE industry in Busan. As a result of this study, six terms in value include economic value, recognition value, symbol value, social relation vale, education value, and psycho logic value were defined.
