Abstract

The propose of this study is to investigate the difference of isokinetic muscular strength between healthy tennis players and shoulder injuries in tennis players to indicate a objective/ data for a utility physical tennis training. Subjects were classified into two groups: healthy tennis players group (HTP) (n=10), shoulder injuries in tennis players (SITP) group (n=9). They participated in measuring on isokinetic muscular strength of right shoulder by a angle velocity in 60°/sec, 240°/sec. Results showed that HTP group significantly increased the shoulder external rotation (Nm) level by a angle velocity in 240°/sec compared with SITP group. In addition, HTP group significantly increased the shoulder internal and external rotation (%BW) level by a angle velocity in 240°/sec compared with SITP group. Therefore, it is concluded that the shoulder muscles must be trained under muscular strength training for preventing shoulder injuries in professional tennis training program.
