Abstract

In the article, taking into account some shortcomings of the regulation of the institution of parole in Russia, the corresponding Chinese experience is analyzed. Attention is drawn to the point system for evaluating the correction of a convict in China for subsequent decision-making on his parole. The criteria for assessing the degree of correction of convicts, the specifics of accrual (deduction) of points, including in relation to certain categories of convicts, the circumstances of making a positive or other assessment of correction, the corresponding powers of the working group of the prison administration are highlighted. The conclusion is formulated that in China there is a clear and formalized approach to assessing the degree of correction of convicts, which allows the court to make a sufficiently objective decision on their parole.
