Abstract
In 2023 amendments were made to the Federal Law «On the Protection of Competition», which enshrined such concepts as “digital platform” and “network effect” at the legislative level. Despite the use of these definitions in law enforcement long before the changes were introduced, network effects were analyzed only in cases involving the abuse of market dominance by digital platforms. In the context of legislative reform, the impact of innovations on market entities in whose activities the network effect is most clearly manifested is particularly interesting, namely: on investment platforms and marketplaces.
