Abstract
Carl Gustav Jung is the founder of analytical psychology, who expressed an intensive interest in the process of human restoration. The purpose of this study is to analyze Lee Seong-dae’s essay, which reveals wisdom through exploration of human nature and abundant life, based on Jung’s theory, which proposed a philosophical methodology for human beings to live a valuable life. This is because Jung’s theory, which made an effort to understand the human mental world more fundamentally, has a point of contact with the fundamental task of the essay, the exploration of humanity. Seongdae Lee’s collection of essays, 『A one-year-old adult child』 is a work that clearly reveals the attitude and will of life to recognize and realize Jung’s human archetype and live a symbolic life. Human archetype in each work gives a deep insight into the wisdom of life and suggests a way to live a rich and meaningful life. This can have something in common with Jung
