Abstract
The paper aims to determine the direction of metaphorization of image-bearing units motivated by different parts of speech with the original semantics of the source-domain “War”. The scientific originality of the research consists in studying the specificity of the military metaphor functioning in Russian discourse of the foreign political leader N. A. Nazarbayev. As a result, it has been revealed that the military metaphor in Russian political discourse of a foreign country’s leader becomes the means of metaphorical imagery for conceptualization of political and economic activity, strategy of development, as well as the country’s financial and human resources.
