Abstract

The paper analyzes the activities of Tyumen State Pedagogical Institute during the Eastern Front of World War II. The authors describe the tasks, problems and directions of activities of the teaching staff and students during the war period. The work illustrates the living conditions of the teaching staff and students of the Institute, new types of social activities aimed at meeting the needs of the front and the rear. In addition, the paper describes personnel issues and the inclusion of evacuated specialists in the teaching staff of the Institute, new directions of scientific work of teachers related to the needs of wartime. On the basis of archival materials, collection documents on the history of the university of the Library and Museum complex of Tyumen State University and sources of personal origin, the attitude of people to work and their duty in the conditions of that historical stage is considered.
