Abstract

ABSTRACT This article is devoted to the study of Marina Cvetaeva’s poetic cycles “Achmatova” and “Poems for Blok” and takes as a point of departure Michel Foucault’s concept of heterotopia. I use the characteristics of heterotopia suggested by the French thinker as an instrument for analysing the spatial organization of poetic texts, considering it separately in each cycle, but also pointing to similarities and differences in the dedications to the two poets. The concept of heterotopia helps reveal important features of space in the poetic cycles, to analyse the cycles’ system of spatial coordinates and to explore the concept of border in the poetic text.
