Abstract

The article considers the facts allowing to talk about the significance of personality and writings by St. Tikhon (Zadonskii) for Dostoevskii. The writer contrasted the image of St. Tikhon with the positive protagonists of modern literature. Dostoevskii used the features of Tikhon when creating the images of the bishop ("The Obsessed"), Zosima the monastic elder ("Karamazov Brothers"), Makar Dolgorukii ("Juvenile"). Dostoevskii's characters and the saint share joyful Easter perception of the world and people.
