Abstract
The paper aims to identify the influence of French musical culture on the development of Russian romance, taking into account a poetical component and performance tradition. The article compares French romances and romances of the Russian composers to the French texts, genre stylizations. The role of French dance music in the formation of Russian lyrical poetry is identified. The scientific originality of the research involves a comprehensive approach to studying the influence of French musical art on the development of Russian chamber vocal performance. The research findings are as follows: the author proposes a scientifically grounded approach to choosing expressive means taking into account the origins of Russian lyrical romance.
